On May 8, a solemn event dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the memory of the Republican defenders, who fell in the battles of 2014, took place on the territory of the “Saur-Mogila” memorial complex.

On May 7, the first session of the Youth Parliament was held in the Plenary Hall of the DPR’s People’s Council. The event was attended by the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, People’s Council’s Deputies Eugene Ilyenko, Kirill Makarov and Roman Udalov, representatives of ministries and departments.

DPR People’s Council deputy Oleg Onopko, in an interview with RIA Novosti, commented on the statement of the Verkhovna Rada deputy Konstantin Grishin, known as Semyon Semenchenko, about the need to “depopulate the Donbass” by pulling all labour resources out of the DPR and LPR territories.

On May 3, in the city of Donetsk, within the framework of the People’s Club discussion platform on the basis of the DPR People’s Council, a meeting was held on the topic “The urgency and problems of legislative regulation of local governing activities in the Donetsk People’s Republic."

On May 2, a requiem meeting was held in Lenin Square in the centre of Republic's capital, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the tragedy in Odessa.
