Speaker of Parliament Vladimir Bidyovka delivers presentation at conference in Republic’s capital

On May 6, a Republican research and practical conference with international participation “A political process in the Donetsk People’s Republic: institutional and value-based dimensions” was held on the basis of the Department of Political Science in the Donetsk National University.

The Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, People’s Council’s deputies Oleg Onopko and Miroslav Rudenko, guests from the Rostov and Voronezh regions of the Russian Federation participated in the event as speakers.

The Speaker of the Parliament presented an analysis of the People’s Council’s activity over a five-year period to the conference.

ʺThe area of legislation in the Republic is developing and improving every day. The People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic adopted 304 laws, 272 of them were adopted by the deputies of the 1st Parliament, 32 of them – by the deputies of the 2nd parliament in the course of the past five years.

The development of inter-parliamentary relations with our allied countries plays a particular role. In particular, the People’s Council of the DPR signed agreements on cooperation with the State Council of Crimea and the Parliament of South Ossetia this year alone. Clearly, consultation services, joint events and experience exchange have a positive impact not only on the legislative work, but also strengthen friendship between the countries, consolidating the position of the Donetsk People’s Republic in the international arena,ʺ Vladimir Bidyovka said.

The participants at the conference began their work in dedicated sections at the end of the plenary meeting.

The Chairman of the People’s Council noted the importance of involving young researchers in the political life of the state during an interview with the press.

ʺFirst and foremost, referring to the importance of such activities, it is encouraging to note that youth is interested in state processes in order to understand political life of the Donetsk People’s Republic. It is doubly satisfying that this is the youth of the Historical Faculty of the Department of Political Science, where I studied at the time. I believe that youth will be interested to talk and learn firsthand about certain state processes,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.
