Rally dedicated to anniversary of proclamation of Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic takes place in Donetsk
On February 12, a rally, dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic took place near the Monument to Artyom (Fedor Sergeyev). The solemn event was attended by the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, People’s Council’s deputies, representatives of the Republic ministries and departments, citizens of the DPR’s capital.
Denis Pushilin underlined that it was important to consider and apply the experience of our glorious ancestors at this stage of state building.
ʺIt has been 101 years since the Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic brought together the most crucial industrial regions of Russia. The Republic was built on the basis of economic peculiarities of the territories, not on the basis of nationality. The DKR implemented quite revolutionary reforms and social transformations for that time. But life had other plans.
Nevertheless, we remember and honour the merits of our ancestors, their commitments, which are very closely intertwined with our desires. We really want to live in a social state, we are oriented towards great commonality, towards the Russian world.
I am sure that we will withstand. We exist and none of this will be taken away from us anymore. The Donetsk People’s Republic continues to strive to ensure that our people live in dignity. We want to be a part of a big country and our desires will be heard,ʺ the Head of the Republic said.
Vladimir Bidyovka, in turn, noted that the idea of the establishment of an independent state on the territory of Donbass is now being realized in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
ʺThe Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic is a vivid historical example of how people did not want to tolerate chaos, destruction, imposition of foreign ideas and rules. The residents of Donbass took fate in their hands in order to unite all those regions, where people wanted to live and work for the sake of their small and big Motherland
Today, more than hundred years ago, we are connected by a single aspiration to establish a decent life in our republic, and we will do everything we can!
We have historical examples, where one of which is the Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic. Despite its short, but vivid history, it showed that the fate of people can and should be in their hands. We will not fail our ancestors and, moreover, we have now built on their success and created a real state – the Donetsk People’s Republic,ʺ the Speaker of the DPR’s Parliament stated.
During the event, the Head of the DPR and Chairman of the People’s Council laid floral tributes to the Monument to Artyom – a revolutionist, founder of the Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic.
It should be reminded that, on February 6, the deputies of the People’s Council unanimously adopted the memorandum of the Donetsk People’s Republic on the fundamentals of state building, political and historical succession, according to which the Donetsk People’s Republic is the successor of the Donetsk-Krivorozh Republic, which was proclaimed in 1928.
