The people are source of authority in the Donetsk People's Republic and free elections are the highest expression of it. These principles are enshrined in the DPR Constitution, and therefore should and will be implemented in the upcoming elections this year.

The latest legislative initiatives of the Ukrainian political elite aimed at trying to justify their criminal decisions against the Donbass do not relieve Ukraine of the implementation of the Set of Measures to Implement the Minsk Agreements, supported by UN Security Council Resolution No. 2202 of February 17, 2015.

Ukrainian ‘justice’ continues to close its eyes to heinous crimes committed by the members of neo-Nazi groups. Thus, a militant of the “Azov” nationalist group (an organization forbidden in the DPR – Ed.) wounded a local citizen to death in the heart of Mariupol. 

On February 28, in Minsk, a regular meeting of the Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass was held. The agenda included issues of compliance with the ceasefire, the implementation of the agreement on the disengagement of forces and facilities, the preparation of the process of exchanging prisoners, as well as the discussion of political and economic issues.

The unstable economic situation in Ukraine led to a series of strikes across the country in various sectors. Almost one after another news about the hunger strike of Selidovo miners, the strike of Volyn miners, the stopping of the educational process at the National Medical University named after A. Bogomolets, the strike of the power engineers of Zaporozhye and Berdyansk began to appear.

On February 24, the DRP Badminton Cup took place in the Donetsk sports club SportMAX. The Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin participated in the competition.

On February 24, a concert of Russian pop stars to the Defender of the Fatherland Day took place in the capital's Slavic Culture Center. Alexander Buynov and Denis Maidanov congratulated Donetsk residents with their hits. The honorable guest of the event was Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the DPR People's Council.
